When You're Ready to Give Up, Don't Quit. The Lord Delivers Us...

There's a story about Doug and his mom Pat. She wanted so much to see him have his dreams fulfilled. She just wanted to see Doug become successful at his job. He would be overlooked for promotion and would be let down, but he never stopped trying. One day, God told Pat that Doug should give his best because a promotion was coming, so she told him, but Doug shrugged her off. It wasn't that he was trying to be disrespectful, but he was tired. He was like a tire that lost all its air. He'd given 100% and nothing happened, then he gave 100% again and still nothing happened, so in frustration, he turned to his mom and said, "Mom, I don't have anything left." She brushed the hair from his forehead consolingly with her hand and said, "But the Lord says now is the time to deliver."

Have you ever been there like Doug? Know someone who is poised to give birth and is exhausted and can't push even when it's the right season? Guess what? It happens, a and more often than you might think because as you're giving that 100%, the devil is trying to undermine you so in all that "prep work" and "practice time" you won't be prepared when God says its time, but here are a few key Bible stories that can help...

Consider the nets, the virgins with the candles, the lepers, Joseph and David, and the lame man:

  • The lepers said, "Why sit we here lest we die?" They saw the people starving, got up and walked and found a provision in another town. The people were so afraid of the lepers, they had left everything behind. So don't sit and give up when it's time to move.
  • The virgins were to keep their candles lit for when the bridegroom approached. If they used too much oil, they wouldn't have enough to keep their candle lit at the right time. Let your light shine consistently so you will be ready when God says it's time.
  • Joseph sat in a pit and was overlooked despite helping other people. Despised and hated by his brothers - just like David, Joseph was left for dead, people kept ignoring him but God set him apart for a reason and a season. Know that if God calls you, He will keep you for such a time as this. There is a purpose to your life, so hold onto God and don't go by the present circumstances. New income will come, that new job, that healing, a marriage, the business, getting out of debt, etc.
  • The lame man sat for well over thirty years waiting for someone to pick him up and take him into the healing waters. Jesus said, "Get up." Sometimes we can sit so long we give up, but when Jesus says get up, do what God says to do and trust Him.
  • Peter was fishing to no avail until Jesus said, "Lower your nets here." Don't get so complacent that you don't recognize God or you ignore God when He calls. We can get so sarcastic and impatient with waiting that when it's finally time, we've dismissed God.

Maybe like Doug, you're exhausted. You've got someone telling you to push and that now is the time and in exasperation, you're stating a true and clear fact, "You've already been giving your all - all this time," but that's the whole point of giving birth. When God says it's time, it's time and the Lord will deliver you. Maybe God has asked you to try one more time. Maybe the other times were practice or the wrong season, but when God says move, be ready. Maybe He's assigned you with marching around the Jericho Wall 7 times right when you're the most exhausted, but if God says it's time - now, then push! Here's how...

TIPS TO HELP YOU DELIVER

“Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.”  Isaiah 66:9

Reconfirm God's Word to Him: Speak it back to Him in prayer, "Okay, Lord. You want me to do ----." Reconfirm and ask for a sign so you know that is the direction and then write it down so you don't forget what He said and when. The Holy Spirit will guide you. David won a war one way and the next time he went into battle, God delivered him another way, so always ask God, listen for His word, and write down what He says because when God speaks, it might sound clear until all hell breaks loose and then you realize that everything going on contradicts what He said. That's why you have to hold onto His unchanging Word

Don't complain: The Children of Israel did this and while we think we wouldn't do the same, it's so easy to think, "Why is God making me go through all these hoops and hurdles when He could just deliver me?" The fact is, just obey. He is delivering you. It might be hard, time-consuming and exhausting, but go through the birthing process as God has assigned it, and He will deliver. Don't let false pride cause a stumbling block.

Stay the course and don't get distracted: Okay, so the Children of Israel took 40-years for what should have been 40 days. Learn from that. If God gives you a task, make that your mission. No matter how tired you are, write down exactly what He asks and be determined to complete it. Focus on what God asks and finish strong.

Remember God's Word doesn't leave void no matter what it looks like: Sarah was 90 when she had Isaac, so maybe you're not about to have a baby in your old age, but you might be giving birth to a new dream, a new book, a new job/business, etc. IF God spoke it, IT SHALL COME TO PASS. That's it. Don't doubt, don't give up, and don't quit. God's Word always comes to pass. Change your stinking thinking to line up with His Word. Don't let your thoughts about giants in the land stop you from what God has for you.

Don't let people take your assignment from you: Remember the devil is cunning. People would love for you to give up so you can lose your praise and they can gloat. Don't give up and don't quit and don't doubt. What God has for you is yours. The violent taketh by force - in this case, if God confirms with a Word that it's yours, you have a right to fight for it with God's Word. For example, Noah was building an ark, naysayers were laughing at him, but he kept on building and kept on believing because God said what would happen. Sarah tried to have another baby so God's Word wouldn't leave void, but her womb opened because God said it would. God's Word never leaves void. Hold onto it. Wrestle for it and don't stop clinging to God's Word. It shall come to pass. Like the woman with the issue of blood, leap for Jesus and grab hold of Him by faith!

Ask any mother and she may tell you that the hardest part of giving birth is the labor. The Lamaze classes, the breathing, coaching, etc., that's all preparation for what's to come because when you get there, it can look out of your control. That's where the doctor and his or her staff guide you. This is where the Lord steps in and delivers us. Like with the example of Doug and his mom, if God says now is the time, then God has already made the way and all you have to do is get into position, sometimes again. Think of Peter fishing with the nets, "Lord, we already fished there, nevertheless, at thy Word." Like a mother in a birthing position, get ready and all that practice will pay off when you deliver! Trust God. If He leads you to it, He will see you through it!

Hold on tight to God. That baby is coming! That vision, that victory, claim it! It's yours! God is coming to deliver you! Get excited! It's your season and it's your time and what God has for you is yours and man cannot take it away! Deliver us Lord! Glory to Your Holy Name!

Our May Prayer

Father God, in the name of Jesus, Lord we pour out our hearts to you. In this season of birthing new visions and dreams, we ask for your help, your guidance, wisdom, instruction, signs and direction. Speak to us Father. Confirm that we are on the right track and in the right birthing position for what you have for us. Line us up with your will for our lives. We praise you for the victory and we listen for the unctions/promptings from the Holy Spirit. We hide our hearts in you, Lord, not man. We run to you, Father God, not people. Remove anything and anyone in our lives that doesn't line up with your purpose and your will for our lives. Show us the way, let us see clearly and write and speak the vision. Send angels to help us, to hold us up, to guide, lead, and direct us to bring your will for our lives to pass. We are subject to you, Lord, and we listen for you to make the way.

We rebuke and renounce every demonic attack of the enemy and we cancel sickness, all strokes, and disease, reduce the inflammation, and we reduce every tumor at the root and every cancer cell must wither and die, and we speak healing over the kidneys, lungs, and hearts, and strengthen our limbs and fill our minds with your wisdom and knowledge. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. We cancel the devil's assignment in the name and precious blood of Jesus. We also pray to rebuke the demons of depression, suicide, disaster, and demonic influences. Lord, send help from on high, dispatch angels on assignment in this season to help prepare us for promotion and arm us with your love, patience, long-suffering, and the other fruit of the Spirit.

We also pray to remove every distraction that tries to be a stumbling block. In areas where we have decisions to make, help give us your wisdom and let us build confidence in you, Lord. We're not giving up, we're not wavering, we're not moving, we're not doubting. We know faith comes by hearing and hearing by your Word, Lord. Enlarge our tents, widen our territories, we're stretching our tent curtains wide. Show us where to lower the nets. We need to hear from you, Lord. We need signs and covering from you, Father. We need the Comforter and we ask for you to deliver us in this birthing season that we may give you glory in Jesus's name, may our souls prosper in you and for the advancement of your kingdom, and to give you the glory, in Jesus's mighty name, amen.

The Prayer of Salvation

If you haven't said the Prayer of Salvation, now's a perfect time: Father God in the name of Jesus, Lord, I ask forgiveness of my sins. Please come into my heart. I turn my back on sin and I make you my Lord and Savior. I want to follow you for the rest of my life. Please give me eternal life through you in Jesus name, amen.

Rededication to Christ Prayer

If you need to rededicate your life to Christ because you feel like you've been sinning or haven't been living right, pray: Father God in the name of Jesus, I ask forgiveness of my sins and I turn my back on sin. Please help me to overcome ---- and I want to lead a better life through you. I decree and declare this day I have overcome ---- and I have the victory in Jesus name, amen.

Stay in God's shadow, stay away from sin and temptation, keep reading your Bible and keep seeking God first.

Be ye doers of the Word... We pray this message blesses you today!
