President Trump Praises Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, cites the ruling "will work out for everybody"

EXCLUSIVE: President Trump is praising the Supreme Court for their decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. "This is following the Constitution and giving rights back when they should have been given long ago," he said in an interview with Fox News.

When asked for a message for pro-lifers, Trump said "In the end, this is something that will work out for everybody. This brings everything back to the states where it has always belonged." Asked if his role in appointing three conservative justices may have affected the ruling, he told Fox News, "God made the decision."

The ruling centered on a law in Republican-backed Mississippi banning abortion after 15-weeks. The case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, was brought to the Supreme Court in an attempt to strike down a block on a 15-week abortion ban. 

As Justice Samuel Alito stated in the court's official opinion, "We end this opinion where we began. Abortion presents a profound moral question. The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives."
