God is Our Covering...

I was watching TD Jakes in a recent message about seeing God as El Roi which means the God who sees. It immediately reminded me about something Father God said.

When I was going through a SEVERE drought and I was up early praying, God started speaking to me. Several times I would pray at 5:30 am and He would say, "I KNOW you need help with your bills." And, this was significant. In this world, the devil is playing a lot of manipulative mind games. He KNOWS we need a stimulus. He KNOWS people are hungry, behind on bills and in desperate situations with housing. So, the devil and his demons try to make matters worse with delays or mean-spirited creditors, right? But, God is SO merciful and loving.

Father God is saying in so many words, "I won't fail you. Wait on Me. Sit with Me and worship Me. I WILL supply all your needs." I think for ME, the big test was resting in God.

Early on when my bills were first past due, I was very upset. I wrote about this in God Will Help With Your Bills. I called a prayer line crying. After an operator said, "God will help you," I cried out and said, "When? When? If He sees this why is He not helping me? He knows what's going on, right? I don't see Him doing anything." But, I didn't realize that that was the test for this particular season.

And, please receive this in 2 parts:

  1. God was looking to see would I call on Him and then importantly WAIT ON ONLY GOD - No matter how long He took. He was looking to see would I call my friends and relatives for a loan. Or, would I turn to false idols and witchcraft or conjure up dead relatives. Hence, when we seek God first we have to KEEP SEEKING HIM ONLY.
  2. God was looking to see if I would quote His Word back to Him. Once I started reciting Deut. 28:1-14 BACK to God, He said, "Continue to remind me of my Word."

As an example, picture a parent TELLING a child they can have an allowance at the end of the week. The end of the week comes and the child gets nothing. The child waits patiently and eventually says, "You SAID you would give me allowance." The parent might test the child and say, "Are you sure?" Of course the child will say, "Yes, I KNOW you did. We were sitting in the kitchen and you told me because I did..." You get the idea.

What I'm saying is:

  1. We can trust God with trouble. He supplies ALL our needs and He's Covenant so He CAN'T lie and His Word NEVER leaves void.
  2. We can sit at Jesus's feet and sit and worship God and KNOW the way is already made. God WANTS to help us and He LOVES us.
  3. God is our covering - not man. God DOES NOT change. He's not like man who you have to please - or appease. God is faithful even when we are not.

Hear Kay Nash's message, Know When to Shift/Switch. A concern with people is they hear a Word and hold onto that Word. They might not realize that God can shift anytime He wants. He's a cloud by day, fire by night. Think back to a message God gave us a short time ago about Doubt and the Mark of the Beast. God said, "What they're seeing is the mark of the beast. It wants them to come against God's laws and all the prophecies He put in place. Keep submitting to me. Man won't listen. He won't listen to Me. The mark of the beast is here. It's coming, they might not see it yet. A storm is coming. He's trying to terrorize them but God's people are greater. They will be saying Hallelujah soon. Keep coming to me. They will see." God said, "Sowing and reaping it will be great for so many. A tragic time for some who won't be obedient to me. Keep removing their stubborn pride. Their stubborn pride is in my way. It prevents Me from being able to act/move on their behalf."

Back to the message...

In Psalm 10, David describes how oppressors and politicians (Bible Hub reference) are like prey. They see people under them as weaker. And, instead of HELPING them, they abuse them. As David describes it, the wicked say, "God does NOT see." But, God KNOWS all and SEES all and it's God who vindicates us. David also points out that God HEARS the desires and needs of the humble and God WILL help the oppressed.

"Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble. 13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it. 14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless. 15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none. 16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land. 17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: 18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress."

Confidently know that you CAN rest in God. Sit at Jesus's feet and worship God. Keep reading your Bible. God WILL provide. I hear Him saying, "It will get better." Hallelu-Yahweh!

Yes, You Can Hear God...And, He'll Supply ALL Your Needs, Too!

I'm hearing "Don't worry. When you call on God, He will answer. Some people think, "Oh, I don't hear from God. I have to go to church and my pastor tells me what God says." I can remember a lady who would take me to church on Sundays. But for some reason she wanted to take me EVERYWHERE and started calling me more and more. I didn't understand why so I asked her what was wrong. She said, "They've been saying at church that you hear from God" and I understood.

She thought because she COULDN'T hear from God she needed to keep someone around her who could. But, that's idol worship and not what God wants. Jesus wouldn't even let people he healed follow Him because we worship the Father in Spirit and Truth. I explained to her that God can speak through ANYONE at anytime. He can even make the donkey talk and the stones cry out. Thinking you can't hear from God is a common misconception when you're new in God or only on "the surface" so to speak. I did the same thing early on.

Back to the message...

I didn't hear from God directly the way He speaks now. So, I went to church or I'd call the prayer lines and I would ask my mom to pray for me. I can't pinpoint WHEN God started speaking more but it was several years ago when I was still working in Corporate America.

I was attending a Pentecostal church and started coming under severe fire on my new job despite doing NOTHING wrong. I didn't realize the enemies I was facing were positioned there purposely to FORCE me to call on God (like David running from Saul). I was under so much attack that I HAD to pray night and day because the enemy was so fierce.

Sometimes I had to work 50-60+ hours a week. I was working the job of 4 people and spent the night at hotels or in the building to ensure I wasn't late for work. I developed a heart condition from so much stress and my blood pressure was through the roof. I prayed like Hannah when Peninnah was mocking her in the Old Testament. But, God was SHOWING me He could help if I called on Him. I've written about this testimony before. Here's an example.

All my immediate coworkers decided to call out sick or come in late leaving me alone with ALL THEIR WORK. They wanted me to panic and give up. Instead, I went to the bathroom and prayed. I asked Father God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the angels to please help me because I desperately needed help. God SHOWED me He was there.

One boss brought me a cup of coffee. Another took all the reports off the printer and gave them out so I could focus on other things. A different boss complained about why I was left alone (and God had them remember this when it was time for my promotion). By the time my coworkers started showing up, most of the work was ALREADY DONE. So, please know that God will answer in different ways. He might SEND help. He might SPEAK to you. Or, He might speak through SOMEONE ELSE. All He wants is for us to invite Him in.

Whatever that BIG THING is that you can't control or handle on your own - that's God. He's waiting for you to give it over to Him so He can show you "It's no problem for God."

To help you  get through this:

  1. Ask for God's mercy. He daily loads us with benefits like mercy, covering grace and wisdom. All we have to do is ask.
  2. Listen for God and look for Him to show up. When you call on God for help, He HAS TO answer. Why? He's Covenant and can't lie. Because He says He supplies ALL our needs, boom! That's all we need to know. He's got this!
  3. Ignore your haters and expect a favorable outcome. At one point I remember an intimidating demon in one coworker. The Lord said, "Don't even make eye contact with her." The less you focus on THEM and their attacks, the more you can center your thoughts on God. Remember Jesus and His healings? He usually ONLY took James and John and sometimes Peter. Jesus intentionally put out the unbelievers. Likewise, you have to put the doubters, haters and naysayers (demons) out of your mind. Do this so you can guard your thoughts and heart. You cannot expect to see the miraculous and walk to Jesus on the water if you doubt.
  4. Rebuke the devil and rebuke their personalities. Remember this, IF the calling on your life is great, the attacks will be great.
  5. Expect a miracle. God sometimes does the SUPERNATURAL so we can see Him move and KNOW He's right there with us in the pit with the fire and the lions.
  6. Look for and listen for your angels. Sometimes God will move through people to help you. Or, they might just smile at you letting you know they're right there with you so you can confidently get through.

"It doesn't matter" what the devil and his demons or your enemies say or do, God is on the Throne and He will ALWAYS make the way for you - You're His Child and His Chosen One!
