God Will Help You With Your Bills

Focus on God 

 

When I started getting deep in prayer with God about my bills it didn't start out that way. I cried and prayed to Father God. I said, "You said I wouldn't have to go through this again. I don't understand what am I doing wrong? You're a God of Your Word." I wrote in the past about a financial drought I went through when my job tied up my income for 21-days. I prayed and God had me stand on the scriptures and tell my job to make me a priority. The Holy Spirit said I wouldn't go through that again so this drought was a shock. Had I done something wrong? I know God can't lie. I cried and cried and I mean it was like a fountain.

The Holy Spirit told me to start praying in the spirit and keep praying in tongues so the answer would come - - - from the Spirit and not the flesh. I obeyed, got up early every morning to pray for one hour. I heard God say, "Pray that the Holy Ghost guide you." I started praying what the Holy Spirit said, "Lord, remove me from the hands of my enemies" and "Remove me from the hand of my enemy".

As I started my morning prayers, I spoke in tongues, quoted scriptures (Deut 28 blessings, 1 Samuel 10, Matthew 5 beatitudes, Joel 2:25 - see the full verses under Contract with God below) and I would do the same thing the next day. I would also read my Bible for an hour every day.

 

I didn't read the Daily Bread or other Biblical inspiration books. While these are all good and have excellent verses, I had to get deep into the Bible and went to every scripture I could find on God's help and His promises. What started happening was that instead of being filled with fear, anxiety and emotions, I started speaking God's Word back to my bills, my bank account and my debts.

 

Instead of looking at my bills I said, "Nope, not going to focus on that. My help draws nigh and the Word says 'Be anxious for nothing' and that 'God supplies ALL my needs'." I realized I was going to be behind on EVERY bill anyway so I might as well stop worrying. It was kind of like a person trying to balance between two logs. I had one foot on the log of worry and fear (not meaning to) and one foot on the log that represented total faith in God. When I finally hopped over to the log of total faith, a miraculous thing happened. 

 

The Battle Within Me and the Dialog that Started

One day out of the blue at maybe 6am while I was praying and praising Father God, He said, "Keep being obedient to me". That was it. Nothing else. But to me, knowing that I was waiting to hear from Him, I was like "Why yes, Lord! I'll see You tomorrow morning!" I cried and kept praying and went to get the nose spray and the tissues. You see, like that shifting on the log to 'faith', I also started being more confident. I'd be standing in my kitchen (so my neighbors wouldn't hear me so early in the morning) and I'd be praying out loud and singing to Father God.

• "Why don't you pray to your dead relatives for help?", I'd say, "Nope, I don't serve the dead. I rebuke you satan. I serve the Living God. Flee from me."
• "It's too late". I'd think of what the Holy Spirit said, "Believe for a miracle" and "Enlarge my thinking". Then I'd say, "We don't walk in time nor are we delayed by it. We walk by faith. And, God is faithful. I am the head, lender and above, blessed and highly favored, fearfully and wonderfully made."

• "That bill's due tomorrow. They're going to evict you." I'd say, "Nope, the Lord WILL make the way. I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread. I am anxious for nothing. The Lord WILL provide. I'm HIS CHILD and in covenant with Him."

• "You should just give up and die". I'd say, "I'm already dead to the flesh satan. My flesh died with Jesus and you have nothing on God's people. I rebuke you. Flee from me. I am in covenant with God. AND it is written and My God says, "Call on ME in the day of trouble and I will deliver you and you shall honor me."

   

I didn't realize it but I was bringing every thought into submission to God. Father God would confirm that I was on the right track and say something like "Keep speaking My promises to Me" and I would say the same thing the next day or the day after and I wasn't crying so much because now He was talking. I was finally like, "Whoa, we're onto something!" (The right log, I know!). I kept on being obedient and getting up early to pray and praise God and stand on those scriptures.

Flood and Filter Out Your Atmosphere

There was one other really important thing I did during my trial. I flooded my atmosphere with Christian ministry messages from YouTube and Christian and gospel music on Pandora and YouTube. It's important that you block out YOUR *fleshly thoughts and the devil's thoughts in an extreme time of testing:

Your fleshly thoughts might be that you're tired, exhausted and see no way out. The devil's thoughts are to try to convince you that you're right and to give up. Instead, flood the atmosphere with the Word of God so ALL YOU HEAR is HIS VOICE, good news and how God is going to make the way and work it out. For example, I'd have on Joel Osteen on YouTube and let it auto play. I'd put on Pandora non-stop with Lauren Daigle, Hollyn, Ricky Dillard and Bishop Hezekiah Walker. I removed secular songs like the Allman Brothers' Tied to the Whipping Post and The Rolling Stones' Sympathy for the Devil. (now is not the time).

One day, I was walking into the room and Pandora was playing in the background. I overheard singer Beverly Crawford cry out, "God will do what you ask Him to. He's doing it just for you." That's from her song, It's About Time for a Miracle. Because there are saints and other disciples who have all this wisdom (been there, done that), go behind these "gleaners" so you can take up these faith seeds. Filter what you hear especially in this season. Reaffirming messages that God is GOING to make they way can keep you encouraged especially in a time when you need relief. Another reaffirming Word? "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us," (Ephesians 3:20).

 

A Confirming Message

 

When you need a miracle, watch this POWERFUL message from Dr. Bill Winston, Faith for the Impossible. There's another message we wanted to include, Faith for the Last Days from 2019 (originally 2013) but couldn't find it. Here are a few slides you can review. Believe for a miracle and don't doubt. Similar to how Jesus put the people out and only took James and John, you have to put your doubts...and doubters out.

*Note: You can't rely on your fleshly thoughts in a time of testing. The test is so your Spirit-man can grow stronger than your flesh. It's also so that the Spirit-man inside of you can rebuke your flesh into submission. Paul discusses this in Galatians 5:16-17, "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."

For example, the flesh might tell you through your carnal thoughts to give up and call a friend for a loan. As you grow in your Spirit, the Holy Spirit might tell you to rebuke your flesh or you might do it yourself and say, "No, God said to wait on Him and I will wait on the Lord". 

Lastly, remember God helping us is a privilege. My mom reminded me of this. It's not for us to look to the government or our jobs but look to God. He is our supply. It's God who is providing. But like the Children of Israel we're sometimes hard-headed. We're sometimes quick to complain over what's lacking. However, we don't always turn back and say thank you.

Additionally, people aren't listening. They're ignoring government officials, going to the beaches and stores with no masks on and taking too many risks. Hence, it's important to use this time to thank God for sending the stimulus checks and helping us. Then, prepare to restock what you need and negotiate bill payments. Be prepared in the event the coronavirus takes a turn because too many people are taking risky chances. As my mom reminded me, like the Children of Israel, "they're a stubborn bunch". Father God is saying, "They're too anxious". People aren't going forward, they're going back. And, God has been saying He's removing stubborn pride.

One day, Father God said at maybe 5:30 or 6am as I was putting coffee on, "I will help you with your bills". I praised God and almost fell out on my kitchen floor I was so thankful! Another day, the Holy Spirit said, "Your guardian angel will help you". Another time the Holy Spirit said, "I will help you with every detail". And, they kept on speaking confirming Words and I kept on receiving them by faith first because it took time for the evidence to show up (Mark 11:22-26). And, then I praised God when I started seeing relief and was able to start paying my bills again.

 

I pray that whatever you're going through or whatever your need is, keep seeking God out and wait on Him. Seek God first and if God says "Okay, call that person for help" or "Let your landlord know you'll make a payment soon" then obey. But keep seeking God first until you get an answer from Him. Beloved, wait patiently on the Lord. Be brave and courageous and wait patiently on Him. Keep knocking at the door and He WILL answer. He is an ever-present help in times of trouble and we're His Children and His Chosen! Hallelujah to God!

Believe for a Miracle and Pray in Tongues Without Ceasing

When you are faced with bills or a sickness and say, "It's no problem for God", something supernatural happens. You're stopping the devil in his tracks because you're exercising your faith and saying "I KNOW God will make the way." And, why do this?

You're putting a demand on God and giving Him permission to step in and help you. But, don't stop there.

Every time you see that bill or hear that medical report or feel a symptom, say, "It's no problem for God." Say, "I'm already delivered." Remind yourself, "I'm already restored." And, when you go to sleep, remind yourself again. When you get up the next morning, stop the devil in his tracks and pray to Father God for mercy AND THEN praise Him for delivering you. This is part of how we grow as prayer warriors.

When I was experiencing my drought, to defeat the devil, I had to get "drunk on the Word" like Penninah in the Old Testament. She prayed so hard, Elijah thought she was drunk. I'd start praying and speaking the scriptures and I kept doing this.

 

As I flooded my atmosphere with reaffirming words, it left no place for the doubt or the devil. And, that meant the devil had to flee. Like wringing out a sponge until there's no water left, you have to get out every toxic thought until you're only receiving, seeing and speaking God's Word. So, what was I saying?

Your Contract with God 

Here are a few things to call on:

• Deuteronomy 28:1-14 The Lord's blessings when we obey Him
• I Samuel 10:1-9 The blessings Saul received
• Matthew 5:3-11 The Beatitudes / blessings Jesus spoke
• Luke 6:20-24 The blessings that Jesus spoke

   

Now, I have to rebuke false pride because I don't want it to sound like "This is what "I" called on and "I" made it work." Nope, that's false pride and flesh. These are just some of the scriptures I prayed as I reminded God we are in covenant and have a contract with Him. But then I realized where my thinking was faltering. I had to remind MYSELF to not foolishly accuse God of not helping (what the devil wants). These are the covenant verses I have to stand on. So I had to shift my prayers and words and ask God for forgiveness and then ask for His mercy. I then realized those Bible verses were all reasons why the devil could not touch me or take my things. Once that light bulb went off, I realized I could stand on the TERMS AND CONDITIONS in my contract.

Standing in Authority and Rebuking the Devil

It wasn't about talking back to Father God in a confrontational face-off with Him and complaining and saying, "You didn't provide this" and "You still didn't give me that". I had to turn to the devil and have the confrontation with him and say, "You can't touch me because God's Word says..." Now, we don't have conversations with the devil.

Jesus gave us this example when He said during His temptation:

1. "Thou shalt not test and tempt the Lord thy God",
2. "Thou shalt serve the Lord thy God and Him ONLY and
3. "Man shall not live by bread alone."

    

The only other things we're supposed to say are "I rebuke you satan. Flee from me," "No weapons formed against me shall prosper" and "Get thee behind me satan." You see, Jesus teaches us that WE ARE THE AUTHORITY. Don't have conversations with the devil or he'll try to manipulate the word like he did with Eve.

So, this was just part of what I kept saying and speaking every day. The other part is confessing all sins and rebuking that stubborn pride.

• Pride says "I don't have to pray." Remember, Philippians 2:10-11 states that at the name of Jesus, "EVERY knee shall bow".
• Pride says, "I'm walking away because you're not helping me, moving fast enough or showing evidence." Remember, the Bible states, "Ye them that WAIT upon the Lord", Isaiah 40:31.
• Pride says, "I used to make more money than this on my own." Remember, Father God doesn't want us looking BACK. He has a new plan.
• Pride says, "What's wrong with God? Why isn't He helping me?" Remember, it is written, God is an ever-present help in times of trouble.
• Pride says, "I'm such a good person. Why is this happening to me?" Remember, rain falls on the just and the unjust. And, no flesh can stand before God.

Do Everything by God's Authority and in Jesus's Name (And, DON'T DOUBT)

We'll close with this, by rebuking our pride and asking for God's mercy we can come boldly to the Throne of Grace and let our requests be made known unto God. All God wants is a repentant heart which the Bible teaches us, He will not despise. And, He will help you every step of the way. Because God is shifting the authority to us and we have the same authority that Jesus has, it's important to do everything "By God's authority and in Jesus's name". This is what the Holy Spirit taught me to say. Hence, when you pray over your bills, decree and declare they are paid and you are debt-free...by God's authority and in Jesus's name.

 

It might take time to see evidence but NO WORD of God's will ever fail. And, we have Father God's authority so start using those faith muscles and believe ONLY. Don't doubt because your prayers won't be answered if you have ANY DOUBT in your mind (remember that log above, stand on faith only). James 1:5-8 teaches us, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the LORD. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."

 

Keep speaking the Word and watch and see the surprises in store. God WILL help you with your bills but importantly, He's helping you GROW in authority in Him. Glory to God in the Highest! Have faith and keep reading your Bible! Don't forget you're in contract/covenant with God and He will NOT fail!
