How to Be a Squirrel, Not a Leaf...
Do you shout boldly at church on Sunday, then crawl back to the car after service as you await the next attack on Monday? We carry these burdens that we drop at the church steps (that boss, those bills, that sickness, that job). Then we mistakenly pick the baggage back up when we leave church because our thoughts don't focus on the promises of God, but on the problem. Jesus said to lay your burdens down, so leave them there. But what happens when church inspires you on Sunday, but it doesn't sustain you all week?
I was heading to work one day when I ran into a deacon from another church. He asked me, "What was the message from Sunday?" I didn't know. It was a Tuesday morning, but then I realized the point he was making. If the seed that's scattered doesn't get into good ground, the birds will come and eat it.
At church, take notes. Study God's Word daily. Have a few scriptures. Carry them with you all week. You are a tree firmly planted. When you go boldly to the throne of grace, that's Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and all week long. Your notes and those scriptures are to carry you when the devil tries to uproot you. The word you receive on Sunday is for you to hold onto it during the tests and trials that come during the week. Know Beloved that God's got you. Forever His word is established. Get your scriptures out and stand on them. Speak, decree and declare them and so shall it be. Don't let your mind be flooded with "He said they were laying people off," or "She said it's stage 4.) We serve a Mighty God so all we need to focus on is "But God supplies all my needs," or "But God said He won't let my foot slip," or "But it is written that by Jesus's stripes I am healed." Hold the word and carry it all week and watch God work on your behalf... God-Driven-Designs.com
