The world can be so busy and distracting, filling our lives with busyness and chaos. Between traffic, PTA, after-school activities, work and cleaning, that leaves barely any time for God - let alone yourself. We need to take time away for devotions, quiet time with God, that mani/pedi and a good movie - and a little chocolate. Just like you would pay yourself first when you set up a budget, set time aside each week - even if just for a few minutes during the week or an hour or two on weekends to commune with God and have the downtime that you need. Bake those cookies, have that sweet treat, read your Bible, pray, and rest in God. Bill Winston said in a recent message that we weren't made to take on huge amounts of stress and on a recent episode on the Jewish Voice the guest speaker discussed how people shouldn't try to "over" multi-task because while you know you can do it, your brain ends up tired, overworked and exhausted. The scripture reads, Not by might nor by strength, but by God's Spirit. Let God lead, leave room for God and trust in Him to help to make the way.
