Stay in God's Shadow...

In the movie Hacksaw Ridge, Desmond Dos knew a few things. He wanted to serve God, he wanted to become a medic and help others, and he knew that he didn't want to carry a gun. He was taunted and teased, beaten up, humiliated, and yet, he stood his ground. He prayed and asked God for help. In the war, he wasn't sure of his calling and inquired of the Lord. It was then that he heard a voice crying out, "Medic!" He realized that when everyone else had left the battle field, he was the only one able to help the sick and injured men - The same men who chastised and humiliated him. He treated every single one of them with respect and he told them all that they were going home. It was then that he understood God's calling for him.

In dealing with people, crowds, haters, naysayers, and mockers, the enemy's goal is to try to undermine you to fight in the flesh, but that's not God's will for us. Look at Job who had a hedge of protection around him. You have this hedge of protection when you stay in God's shadow. Step out to argue with the person making false accusations, and you are now warring in the flesh. Step out to retaliate when they say negative things about you and you're now using your flesh instead of allowing God to work on your behalf. Just like Desmond Dos, you have the choice to stay in God's shadow so you can hear from God or you can fight with people. Now, that doesn't mean you let people attack you. No, on the contrary, you walk away from the crowds, the haters, naysayers, mockers, and liars, and that's what our summer series, Happy, Healthy, Healed is about.

When the enemy tries to corner you

Let's be honest. In this Year of Jubilee, not everyone is well, jubilant. There are crowds that want to war against you, but you have an angel with you that is protecting you. Make sure to stay close to God so you can hear from the Holy Spirit. The further you walk away from God and use your flesh to fight, the weaker you become.

There's an excellent YouTube video (see below ) about a kudu antelope and a giraffe in a struggle (no blood is shown). An antelope was pushing a giraffe down and every time the giraffe stood up, the antelope used its horns and knocked it down into submission. It was heart wrenching to see. The giraffe would stay still, then try to stand, and the antelope would push it again. At one point on another video at the zoo, a child can be heard in the background screaming, "Just stay down." In this video, one child yells, "Just leave! Just leave!" Off in the distance, the giraffe saw a group of other giraffes. He likely knew if he could just get there, he could find safety in numbers, and he did just that. In one big leap, the giraffe took off running while the antelope ran after it, but then suddenly, when the giraffe made it to where the other giraffes were, the antelope abruptly backed off. Even though the giraffes were likely not as strong as the antelope, he was outnumbered and slowly went the other way.

CAUTION: The video shows a kudu antelope push a giraffe several times and the giraffe falls, but no blood is shown.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

Staying in God's shadow means you live your life, fast, pray, go to church, etc., and you listen to God more by seeking His counsel first...

  • It can be hard especially if you're vocal and want to jump in that Facebook argument and voice your opinion, but there goes that flesh again. Remember, stay in God's shadow.
  • You might see it at work when someone makes a false accusation against you. They yell at you and accuse you of something. Nope. You're not going to yell back, complain, and mirror them. You're going to mirror Jesus and walk in love and stay in the spirit, i.e., in God's shadow.
  • You can also see it relationships when a person wants to tear you down - and these may be other Christians. You might be tempted to start quoting every scripture you know as you sling the Sword of the Lord like Hercules, but before you do that, ask God because He may just want you to be quiet and walk away.

Staying in God's shadow is about resting in God and also revering God. Ask Father God what He would have you to do. Ask if you should reply to that email or say something back to that person yelling at you. Ask if this is the time to tell your sister off or give that loud neighbor a piece of your mind. And no, you will not get out of your vehicle in traffic to explain to others how to yield properly. The more you stay in God's shadow, the more you can control your emotions/flesh and avoid walking in the flesh. Recognize that this is a cunning devil trying to get in and get you to step out of God's covering any way he can.

We're cautioning you that we're into a season where there are sudden attacks, severe rage, and sudden bursts of anger in the demonic, and you have to be mindful to not be caught up in your flesh. There are demons trying to undermine innocent people by making "false accusations" as distractions. Nope, recognize it and stay in God's shadow. They'll make up lies about you to get others to accuse you instead. Walk away. There are people giving up and committing suicide because they're being accused falsely. They're watching TV shows about dying that say it's okay, or they hear in songs, "I could just die" and now they want to die. That's the demonic. Rebuke that demon and stay in God's shadow. In this Year of Jubilee, you have to arm yourself spiritually so you can clearly hear, see, recognize, and rebuke every demonic attack. That means knowing the scriptures you need in battle, knowing when God wants you to speak back with those scriptures, and knowing when to just walk away and keep your peace.

When we were researching Recognizing Narcissists, we came across video clips from young girls who were being attacked verbally by their mothers. One mom is yelling at and belittling her daughter and the daughter only asked, "Please stop yelling at me." This is a sickness and a cycle that we're in with the last days as people become lovers of themselves and want to war in the flesh. Be mindful of sudden attacks and false accusations so you can guard your heart. What we're seeing are the birthing pains of the end times as God shakes up the world and the devil knows he is running out of time. The good news is this year will bring so many sudden changes to God's people - in such a good way, with elevation, change of status, new jobs, new income, new business ideas, fresh manna, etc. Get and stay in alignment with God so you can hear from Him and look for those "Then suddenly" breakthroughs. Our Redeemer lives and He's coming back for His Chosen Bride, the Church!

Our July Prayer

Father God, in the name of Jesus, Lord we give you glory, honor, and praise. Thank you for this Year of Jubilee. Thank you for being our Father God and being in our hearts, homes, schools, churches, and businesses. Thank you for protecting our neighbors, friends, families, and loved ones. In this season, we seek shelter in you and we rebuke the demons of sudden attacks, and we rebuke the demons of sudden violence and suicide. We  pray for those in need of help and healing. We pray over our communities and we pray for our nation and our planet. We pray for our clergy, military, our President, those in government offices, and all medical personnel. As we stay in your shadow, Father God, please help us to clearly hear from you. We praise you for our breakthroughs and we praise you for the victory. We pray for an outpouring for and from you. We pray for revival and to win more souls for your Kingdom that it may be sweet alms to you, Lord. We thank you for sudden victory!

We rebuke the demons of stroke, sickness, cancers, and all disease in the name of Jesus. By His stripes we are healed and we are covered in the blood of Jesus. Give us more strength and focus/determination for the future. Let us see past the distractions and see our angels working with us and working on our behalf. We ask for strength, Lord. We praise you because we know it's already done. We're starting new chapters. We know you have surprises in store for your people, and we're so excited to share your good news in our communities and with friends and family. We give you the glory for the great things to come. Arm us with peace, love, humility, patience, and the other fruit of the spirit. We thank you because you are a loving God and we are excited to help get your Kingdom ready for Jesus's return. Thank you for healing us, loving us, and removing the demonic threats from out of our lives so we can focus on the work for you. Please help show us the proper path we should be on. Surround us with wisdom, the Holy Spirit, and angels for the journey and battles up ahead. Guard our hearts and protect us with your shield of faith. We are covered in the blood of Jesus and we love, thank, and honor you, in Jesus's name and the blood of Jesus, amen.

God is going to open a window in somebody's life. A flood of blessings is coming to you. Have faith. He will send you proof. Look for the window He provides.

The Prayer of Salvation

If you haven't said the Prayer of Salvation, now's the perfect time: Father God in the name of Jesus, Lord, I ask forgiveness of my sins. Please come into my heart. I turn my back on sin and I make you my Lord and Savior. I want to follow you for the rest of my life. Please give me eternal life through you in Jesus name, amen.

Re-dedication to Christ Prayer

If you need to rededicate your life to Christ because you feel like you've been sinning or haven't been living right, pray: Father God in the name of Jesus, I ask forgiveness of my sins and I turn my back on sin. Please help me to overcome ---- and I want to lead a better life through you. I decree and declare this day I have overcome ---- and I have the victory in Jesus name, amen.

Stay in God's shadow, stay away from sin and temptation, keep reading your Bible and keep seeking God first.

Be ye doers of the Word... We pray this message blesses you today!

News: Professor Tells Student, "Just Bring the Baby to Class."

Shared via Fox 8 Cleveland: KNOXVILLE, Tenn.

A professor in Tennessee has a solution for a student who missed class after she couldn’t find someone to babysit her 3-month-old girl: Just bring the child to class. Professor Sally Hunter at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville emailed Morgan King that she would be “absolutely delighted” to hold King’s daughter, Korbyn, while teaching class. “I’m very serious with this offer— just bring Korbyn with you!” the professor wrote, excusing the student for missing a class. Read the full article here...

We pray for all students trying to balance work, school, and family life. Know that God is with you and He's an ever-present help, so cast your cares on Him. Believe you will have what you need and know that God will always make the way!

95-Year-Old Calls Cops Over Heat; They Install New AC

Story shared courtesy ABC By NICOLE PELLETIERE

Police and strangers came to an elderly man's rescue last week after he dialed 911 to report his broken air conditioning unit. On June 8, the Fort Worth, Texas, Police Department answered a call from 95-year-old Julius Hatley, who said his central air had stopped working in the 90-degree heat. "I know we're not A/C repair people, but we got done with one call and went straight there," Officer Christopher Weir told ABC News today. "I started sweating immediately, as soon as I got there. [Hatley] said he woke up in sweat and didn't know what to do, so he called us." For the full story, click here...

Praying for all seniors, sick, and shut-ins. Please check on elderly neighbors and those living alone. Sometimes a quick, kind word goes a long way!
